Clerks 2

September 23, 2006

Had a sadly rare trip to the cinema last night to see Clerks 2, released here in the UK two months after the USA for some reason. I’m a big fan of Kevin Smith, although I’m yet to see Jersey Girl (not missing much from what I here), so I was really looking forward to it.

There’s no point comparing it to the original, as it’s a different type of film, with more of a romantic comedy edge to it. Although Smith’s trademarks are all there, with the “gross out” humour and pop culture references. It’s hard to pick a favourite bit, as I enjoyed the entire film, although Jason Lee’s brief cameo was a stand out section. I highly recomend it.

Scottish Tories not as far to the right

September 20, 2006

Their logo that is, in which the tree trunk doesn’t lean as far to the right as the English logo. It’s also darker. The Tory party actually spent £40,000 pounds to have this logo designed, and they’ve got something that my five year old nephew could have drawn.

Even the mighty can fall

September 19, 2006

If, like me, you’re a regular visitor to internet forums, and some blogs, you will notice that people rarely proof-read their own work. One of the most common typos is to transpose the h and e in the word “the”, giving “teh”. But it seems that even the BBC are not immune to this, as in an article about Cameron White signing a new contract with Somerset County Cricket Club, they quote Brian Rose, the director of cricket there, as saying:

Cameron proved himself a one-day match-winner with teh bat this summer.

Check it out before they correct it here.

Letting things slide….

September 19, 2006

I’ve been letting things slide a lot at this blog, being busy with blogs elsewhere. I’ll be back blogging on a much more regular basis very soon.  Keep your eye out!
