The long running music show has come to an end. People will say that moving it to Sunday on BBC Two is what killed it. Although it has only just died, the initial blow was struck ten years ago.
At the time, the show was on Thursday nights at 7pm. The BBC decided the the program was best suited to Friday nights. However, instead of keeping it at 7pm, in a pre-night out slot, they decided to put it on at the same time as Coronation Street. And then wondered why it lost ratings.
That, along with a constant refusal to ban miming is what killed it, not the move to Sunday!
